Give them help, not criticism

In reply to the letter from Stuart Parker (Star Letters, May 11). We would all agree with him as to the dangers that are out there for youngsters these days, and how we all need to be so careful, but talk about rubbing salt into their wounds.

Doesn't he think that, no matter what the outcome of this terrible incident, the parents will never forgive themselves?

To suggest that they should now be arrested and social services examine their capability in parenting is absolute cruelty.

Does he not think they have and will carry on suffering for a very long time to come?

Our prayers should be for them to have the strength to keep going throughout this ordeal, and I am sure I echo the thoughts of thousands of other caring people that there will be a happy outcome for all the family.
