Over the last couple of decades, turnout of voters for national and local government elections have shown that the great majority of the electorate are wholly apathetic about politics, elections, the candidates, and the outcome.

I admit to being part of that great majority. I have lost all confidence in the political party system, because of the corruption that has seeped in, to the point where it appears to be accepted now as real democracy.

My local government constituency area was up for election last May.

I deliberately spoiled my ballot paper, and sent it off to Tony Blair expressing my utter contempt at the whole state of affairs

Were others who are scornful of the current political system to show their disdain by similar action, we may get genuine reform, returning honour and integrity into our administration. Or is that wishful thinking?
