Gordon Brown, defending his actions over pension funds during an interview on the radio, was adamant he made the correct decision and said that if he had to make the judgement again, he would make the same decision.

He reduced corporation tax and reduced it again in the following two years.

"This had the effect of generating higher profits for businesses and higher dividends for shareholders," he explained.

His actions decimated Britain's pension fund pot, then second only to that of the Netherlands and far greater than any other in the EU.

Every Socialist in the land must question priorities that place business profits and shareholders' gains against a decent pension

Thousands of pensioners are facing retirement with an empty pension pot due to the incompetence of this Chancellor.
