Make God a part of life again

A report by UNICEF comparing us with 20 other countries for the quality of life of our children puts us at the bottom of the pile. What a sad commentary on our society.

What a sad commentary on our society. Add to this the crisis in the health Service, the closure of our post offices, the lack of proper policing, the poor state of many roads, the high rate of drug and alcohol abuse, I could go on . . .

Why is this, one might well ask? The current Government must take a large share of the blame. It is, after all, in charge of the country.

Mr Blair, who claims to be a Christian, heads a Government which has passed more legislation which is contrary to Christian teaching than all other governments since World War II put together. It seems intent on forcing its own brand of morality on the rest of us.

But we cannot blame the Government alone. We, the ordinary people of Britain, must take some of the blame. It is us, as a whole, who are throwing overboard the moral and spiritual standards of our past - and not replacing them with anything worthwhile.

There is only one true God and if he is ignored, or sidelined, or written out of our society, we cannot blame Him if he ignores us in return. This means, of course, that we no longer receive His blessing and our society goes downhill.

These things are, of course, forecast in the Bible which says there will be an increase in apostasy. But does it have to be that way?

Not if we put God back into our society. Now that is a matter for everyone to consider. Do you want our society to continue on its downward spiral or are you prepared to stand up and do something about it?
