Put town council in Shire Hall
On November 30, 2006, Councillor Peter Nutting gave his reasons for staying a two tier council (which I agree with wholeheartedly).

He also stated that Shrewsbury would need a town council, which would need new offices, either at the Guild Hall or Rowley's Mansion.
On December 4, the council had a debate and vote on Rowley's Mansion and decided, on "people power", that it would not be sold.
It seems to be "the chicken or the egg" syndrome.
In the Shropshire Star on January 6, 2007, the choice of new offices was again reported and the Guildhall, Music Hall and Rowley's Mansion was a topic.
What is going on?
There is excellent work done by Mrs Margaret Owen to bring the subject to the notice of people who don't usually read about these things. I doubt even if she had got twice as many signatures that it would have made any difference to the result as it had already been discussed, in the usual way, behind closed doors.
In any case, surely the right place for any council office, town or county, should be at the Shire Hall - there is plenty of space there.
