Damn lies will be the legacy

I suggest Tony Blair's legacy will be one of lies, lies and damn lies. Here I state my case. Lie one - The NHS will be safe in New Labour's hands.

Hospital trusts in the UK are millions of pounds in debt and cleaning of hospital wards has been privatised, hence the arrival of MRSA and other superbugs.

Lie two - Continue to reduce unemployment.

Unemployment has risen over the last year at least to a high of 1.8 million and is still rising.

Lie three - Tough on crime and the causes of crime.

Last week there were four burglaries, all committed by people with drug problems and mostly they get away with it because addiction to heroin is no longer regarded as a heinous crime.

Four - One in eight secondary schools remain inadequate to the Government's requirements while Tony Blair is sending millions of pounds to organisations in Pakistan that have been well known to radicalise British Muslims.

Lie five - Democracy and freedom of choice. People will be able to choose if they want a unitary authority.

After the north east voted no in a referendum, the choice for people in Oswestry has been denied. It appears councillors are no longer for the constituents they represent. Or there may be a conflict of interest between them, the Government or a better salary within a unitary body.

Lie six - War in Iraq, WMD, bring peace and democracy.

No WMD, thousands of people die every month and the country is on the verge of civil war.
