Example of a friendly bus driver
I thought you might like to hear what happened to my wife and I the other weekend on a visit to see our daughter who lives in London.
I thought you might like to hear what happened to my wife and I the other weekend on a visit to see our daughter who lives in London.
It was the weekend of the Lord Mayor's Show and also the Remembrance Day Service from The Royal Albert Hall.
We left her flat to travel by bus to The Strand to do some shopping and to watch the procession.
While trundling happily along it ran through my mind that some streets might be closed because of the show.
The bus stopped at a stop near to The Barbican and a scruffy looking individual ran up half the steps to the top deck and bellowed 'Get off the f***ing bus' at all of the passengers (about 12 all together).
We all looked at each other in amazement.
My first thoughts were that this person was either full of drink or drugs and didn't know that he was doing or that he may have been attempting to hijack the bus for whatever reason.
Of course, it may well have been that he was a terrorist.
We lucky 12 need not have worried, as when we trooped down the steps to the lower deck we saw the scruffy terrorist returning to his seat in the driver's cab.
So much for customer care at Transport for London!
