Regional authority run by EU

Make no mistake, the "regional authority" for Shropshire, proposed by the Government will be none other than a regional assembly proposed by Brussels for every EU country.

You will probably find that, just proposed or not, it already exists in some temporary site in Shropshire managed and staffed by pro-European Unionists, not elected by you and I but selected by Brussels.

Using the "stealth and scare tactics" perfected over many years by the EU, we are told that the cost of allowing the people of Shropshire a say in this major change to our local democracy will cost over £300,000. You are supposed to shout: "What a waste of money - just get on with it."

When Telford was "freed" from the rest of us some years ago, the proposers of that move forecast a surplus of £2-3 million per year after setup costs had been repaid - use some of that for our referendum.

"Shropshire is over governed, district councils should merge with the county council under a new unitary authority umbrella," it is claimed. This means all power, planning, police, health and education etc, would be transferred to this regional assembly, there would be no local body to look after council houses.

Regional assemblies are an invention by Brussels and are controlled by the EU to promote its policy, they are anti-democracy, anti- UK and anti-individual.
