Sensible ideas are required
So North Shropshire District Council now needs to employ somebody to tell it how to spend money and achieve value for money for its residents. It's laughable that an authority that has existed for 34 years suddenly feels the need to create this sort of job just when the authority may be on the brink of extinction.

If the aim of this exercise is to achieve a saving for the council tax payer perhaps NSDC could provide a public explanation of what it is currently spending, what this post is going to cost, and how much the taxpayer will save as a result of this valuable addition to the workforce.
As a taxpayer in this district for 18 years, I would prefer it wastes (sorry, spends) the money on employing somebody to knock the management team's heads together to see if a sensible idea falls out.
If this post has been approved by our elected members then what a great disappointment they are to this particular elector.
