Club gets own way
What a disgrace that our town planners have permitted the developers of the New Meadow football stadium to fell 13 lime trees that have graced the old Shrewsbury bypass for many years simply to allow for carriageway widening.
What a disgrace that our town planners have permitted the developers of the New Meadow football stadium to fell 13 lime trees that have graced the old Shrewsbury bypass for many years simply to allow for carriageway widening.
Were these trees not subject to a preservation order and, if so, how can it be rescinded at the stroke of a pen?
I accept that some trees may have needed to be cut down to facilitate the entrance, but 13, come on!
It seems to me that our town planners pander to every wish of Shrewsbury Town Football Club and the developer and allow them to please themselves what they do, including reneging on a deal to provide much needed sports facilities as part of the original planning application.
