So many failures on highways

There have been so many highways failures by the Borough of Telford & Wrekin, with more in the pipeline, that it makes one wonder which school of life the policy makers and policy followers attended.

Published

For example, the single-point entrances to Wrekin Retail Park, Forge Retail Park and Telford Bridge Retail Park; the Market Street/Bridge Road traffic lights in Wellington; the lining and signing along the A442 Eastern Primary; the limit and bollards along A5223 Whitchurch Drive; Trench Lock gyratory; Ketley Bank roundabout.

These all have one common characteristic - to create congestion instead of ensuring free-flow.

Also, I find it impossible to understand why toll charges were introduced on theÊMidlands Expressway Toll Road when the authorities want vehicles to use it in preference to the M6. If the DfT wants to persuade vehicles to not use the M6, that is where the toll should be!
