Dismay at RAF auction
I note with dismay your article yesterday 'RAF memories put on auction site'. The second hand booklet about the RAF base in Bridgnorth was listed on eBay with a starting bid of £9.99 plus £1.35 p&p.
By listing such items on auction sites at extortionate prices, people are cashing in on the nostalgic memories of others.
I don't believe the Shropshire Star should publicise such activity.
Your readers should know that brand new copies of the booklet are available from the Bridgnorth Visitor Information Centre for just £2.50 plus 42p post and packing.
Cheques should be made payable to Shropshire County Council.
Alternatively, you can visit the RAF Bridgnorth website and see a huge collection of memorabilia free of charge at http://rafbridg north.mysite.wanadoomem bers.co.uk
Although I run the RAF Bridgnorth website, I have no connection with the booklet.
Mr Gwynne Chadwick, Bridgnorth
