Lines aren't drawn for store wars
As Sainsbury's employees, we really felt we had to write in reply to the editorial written by Tracey O'Sullivan, headed "Lines are drawn for store wars". Why is it only a wake up call for Sainsbury's and not any other retail store on the site?
As Tesco is a Homeplus store, unlike Sainsbury's, surely it will affect other stores just as much? As for the comment that Sainsbury's staff are seen in Tesco at lunch time, it fails to mention the Tesco staff shopping in our store.
We agree that perhaps our TU clothing range could do with more space, but we haven't had a purpose-built store. It was not that long ago that the Tesco on Wrekin Retail Park was in the same situation as us.
There are no battle lines drawn, only those in the eyes of the reporter who obviously favours Tesco.
