Chance of job cut by this move
I've read with mixed feelings about the ending of certain school contracts with some bus and coach companies (Star, August 29). I, along with my wife and young daughter, have recently moved to the area and I am dismayed that these jobs are now not available because they are going to the voluntary sector.
As I need to have full-time work, I feel I am being denied these options.
If I might make a suggestion: The people responsible for these decisions can give themselves a pat on the back, all of those people receiving £20,000 a year upwards, as they thought voluntary work was the way forward.
They could vote to give their own salaries to charitable and worthwhile causes, namely all those people they have made jobless.
As I do not claim unemployment benefit, I will be chasing after fewer jobs.
