Morals not important to process

Re: "Hospice's proposal will affect our efforts", dated August 25. Although I appreciate Gerald Mothershaw's sympathy for the Severn Hospice and support him all the way; he is quite wrong in his interpretation of the planning law, for his parish council should never approve a planning application on moral grounds.

Likewise, in your report on page four of the same edition, Councillor David Morgan states that the decision to put the application "back" was due to the level of interest shown by the public.

Yet I am told by a Wrekin councillor the reason for the delay was that a "green card" had been issued in order that this application could be heard by the full planning board.
