Shropshire Star

Who will fill all the houses?

There have been two headlines in the Shropshire Star during the past week that have me puzzled. First we have "Immigrants helping to boost population", a story telling us that the indigenous population of Telford has fallen by 300, but 890 immigrants have pushed up the figures.

Secondly we have "Final phase of massive homes plan is submitted". This tells us we are going to see 3,000 homes built in the Lawley area.

Who is going to live in this extra housing when the only people moving in are immigrants? As our council is pushing for city status, will we be expected to accept what has happened in London and Birmingham, where the indigenous population is close to being overtaken by immigrants?
