Performing as part of the Telford Fringe Festival, Roger Swift will take to the stage with a variety of props including fluffy animals and spirit levels for his show Pun-u-Matic, the Second Leg. He will perform after Jack Shanik.

Roger, originally of Wrockwardine Wood, said: "My show is basically an hour of puns. There is nothing about me in the show, it's just a bombardment of puns, intentionally corny jokes.

"The props enhance the puns really, they add a visual element. I use audio clips and video clips on a screen too.

"I have already performed the show this week in Whitchurch and the reception was really good with 100 per cent positive feedback.

"I'm confident and hopeful that this one will be a success with a home crowd."

Roger was a finalist at the Leicester Comedy Festival in both 2016 and 2017 in the UK pun category, placing 3rd both times.

He took part in last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but had to cut his run of shows short after 10 days after contracting cellulitis. He intends to return to Edinburgh this year.

He is also behind the independent comedy brand Teknicolour Smoof, which has organised stand up events throughout Telford since 2010.
