Staff at Attingham Park have been carrying out their essential winter conservation clean to the venue’s artwork during the lockdown.

This month, while the mansion at the National Trust property is closed, the impressive collection hanging in the Picture Gallery is being carefully checked and cleaned by the team.

Helen Rowse, collections and house manager said: “It’s through the support of our visitors and National Trust members that we are able to continue vital conservation work behind the scenes here at Attingham.

“Although the mansion isn’t currently open to visitors our work doesn’t stop, ensuring that when we are able to open the doors once again, the collection and interiors that make the mansion such a special place to visit, are here to be enjoyed for everyone, forever.”

People who live locally to the venue are still allowed to visit for outdoor exercise but booking is essential.

A spokesman said: “The safety of staff, volunteers and visitors remains the National Trust’s top priority.

"Booking is essential for local visitors wishing to visit Attingham to enjoy exercise in the outdoors, in line with government guidelines around local travel and exercise.”
