Councillor Shaun Davies said the event, which last year attracted 30,000 people to Telford, will once more entertain the crowds.

It is the second year that the Balloon Fiesta has been held in Telford. The first was put on as part of the Telford50 celebrations.

It will take place on May 11 and 12, with opportunities to see the hot air balloons throughout the weekend. It will again take place in the QEII Fields at Telford Town Park.

Councillor Davies said: "We are delighted to have such a spectacle return for another year in our fabulous town park.

“The Balloon Fiesta was a fantastic day out last year that attracted thousands visitors to the town and this year promises to entertain the crowds once again.

Activities

“This is a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors to see something special I hope as many people as possible will come along and make a day of it and enjoy all that Telford has to offer."

Revellers will have the chance to go up in a hot air balloon. Further events will take place from midday to 10pm on May 11, with a night glow in the evening.

Activities will take place from 11am until 7pm on May 12. Some events, including the ballooning, could be weather dependent.

Entry to the event is free. The nominated charity for the event is Severn Hospice.
