So far a total of 6,633 tickets have been sold for Saturday's gig at Telford Town Park, including 976 discounted tickets bought by Telford Loyalty Card holders.

The figure is set to grow further as tickets sold by nationwide outlets aren't yet included.

Support acts will include Britain's Got Talent judge and former Mis-Teeq star Alesha Dixon and Telford-based band The Rooz – who prepared for the gig with a performance in Broseley last weekend.

Gates for the event open at 3pm with music getting under way at 7pm. Shropshire band The Rooz will kick things off, before Alesha Dixon and Boyzone hit the stage.

The afternoon will also feature activities for all of the family including a bouncy castle, photo booths and a bungee trampoline.

Boyzone's career has spanned more than 20 years and the band is best known for hits such as Love Me For A Reason, No Matter What and When The Going Gets Tough.

Dixon shot to fame in the early 2000s with girlband Mis-Teeq, with hits including Scandalous and All I Want. She was a judge on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing before moving to over to ITV as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

The stage is now being set up in the QEII Fields In Trust Town Park Arena with the gig just days away.

Councillor Shaun Davies said officials were delighted at the response from music fans across the borough and beyond.
