Telford Kelsey's Teen title dream
A schoolgirl is through to a national beauty pageant – after being named Miss Teen Shropshire.
Kelsey Thomas from Oakengates, Telford, has now beaten hundreds of girls from across the UK to get through to the grand final of the Miss Teen Great Britain Competition.
The 15-year-old first entered Miss Teen Shropshire at the beginning of the year and was chosen by judges as the winner thanks to a photograph and a written piece explaining a bit about herself, her charity work and her hobbies.
The Thomas Telford School pupil will now be hoping to take the national crown at the Miss Teen finals, set to be held in Blackpool on August 31.
The winner will walk away with a number of prizes – including £1,000, dresses from The Dress Studio, a portfolio with FAB Photoshoots, an introduction to EKA Model Agency, make-up, and more.
All finalists get to stay in the town's historic Imperial Hotel, with the finals held at The Globe in Blackpool.
Kelsey said: "Making it to the grand finals is a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown."
Kelsey has been supported by Gee Hillard, operations director at MiBed, who has been sponsoring her as she makes her way through the competition.
Kelsey's mum Julie said: "I'm very proud of her, as is her dad, Graham."
As part of her role as Miss Teen Shropshire, Kelsey wants to make as many appearances around the county as possible before the national competition.
Anyone who would like her to appear at their event should call Julie on 07584 420589.
