Restaurant chain Prezzo is set to move in to The Swan Inn in Bridgnorth High Street.

The group has taken on the grade II listed premises on a 25-year lease from owner, Greg Hipkiss, who has spent £50,000 renovating the front of the building as part of the deal.

Mr Hipkiss said: "We are really delighted with the work and we think it will enhance the town. The front has been completely changed because the entrance used to be at the side.

"The front doors now open straight out on to the High Street.

"All the wooden beams have been made with seasoned oak, as well as the windows and frames.

"We've had to comply with the conversation officer throughout who came down to see our work on Tuesday and was very impressed.

"So many people have already said how pleased they are with the work."

Plans are also in pipeline to completely refurbish the building, which is almost 500 years old, adding new kitchens and renovating the former beer garden.

Mr Hipkiss bought the premises from the Charnwood Pub Company last year.
