Ludlow's La Becasse restaurant goes into liquidation

A restaurant that was once the most successful in Shropshire has gone into liquidation. La Becasse, in Ludlow, is still trading, despite its difficulties.

La Becasse was formerly the county's most successful restaurant and its three previous chefs all won Michelin ratings, while operating under different names.

The restaurant was at the heart of Ludlow's gastronomic boom and was one of four that were featured in the prestigious Michelin guide, the foodie bible, at the start of the Millennium.

However, the restaurant has run into trouble after its former chef left and after it changed hands.

A notice regarding the appointment of a liquidator was posted on Companies House on Wednesday last week, alongside an extraordinary resolution to wind up the company. A meeting of creditors had previously taken place.

Nobody was available for comment from La Becasse or Ludlow Restaurants.

Meanwhile, one of the county's top dining pubs, The Feathers, at Brockton, has also closed. The doors have been closed and there has seemingly been no activity at the site for more than a week.
