Ra'alloy Ramps, based in Hortonwood, plans to quadruple the size of its plant to accommodate its Aviramp portable aircraft jet bridge business.

And bosses hope to expand further if their new business continues to grow across the globe.

The company, which usually manufacturers access ramps for buildings and trucks, launched its Aviramp product early last year at RAF Cosford.

Aviramp is a portable ramp system that lets all aircraft passengers board together including those with disabilities.

Since a successful trial with budget airline easyJet, the company has secured Global orders, including from Dallas Fort Worth International in the US, New Kansai in Japan, Reunion in Mauritius and south of France airports.

Qantas Link in Australia is also planning to order up to 70 units and will be taking delivery of the first five units in the new year.
