Telford Tigers' Ice Hockey Camp has moved a step closer to selling out after development chief Ricky Plant attended the Summer Roller Hockey Festival in Lutterworth.

Coaches from the ECHL, WSHL and EPL will be brought together on August 18-22, when the camp gets under way at Telford Ice Rink.

Plant, who is the Tigers' academy manager, is delighted with the response.

He said: "It was a great weekend and I really enjoyed the chance to explain what the camp is all about. Of course, roller hockey is different, but the two sports are very closely linked.

"We've got Tim Branham from Utah Grizzlies, Jeff Carr from Salt Lake City Moose and Tom Watkins from the Tigers. That shows the depth of coaching talent at the Tigers Hockey Camp.

"Everyone I spoke to was really keen to apply and at the moment, we are nearing full capacity. I wouldn't want to turn anyone away, but it is a case of first come, first served."

This year's event is the inaugural Tigers Hockey Camp, as owners Red Hockey put plans into place to develop home-grown talent.
