Genoa secure comfortable win against struggling Empoli

Empoli are just three points above the relegation zone.

Two goals in three minutes helped Genoa secure a 3-1 victory over struggling Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

Visitors Genoa took the lead through Christian Kouame in the 18th minute when he was picked out by a ball from Domenico Criscito before putting the ball past the goalkeeper.

Empoli equalised through through Giovanni Di Lorenzo, who fired the ball into the net following a cross from the left by Francesco Caputo.

Two goals in three minutes made it 3-1 to Genoa. The first came through Darko Lazovic, who was found at the edge of the box before turning home.

Goalscorer Lazovic provided the assist for the third, crossing the ball for Antonio Sanabria to head home.

The result leaves Empoli just three points above the relegation zone, having lost four out of their last five matches and they are without a win in the league since December 9.
