Hat-tricks

Messi has scored 36 hat-tricks in his Barca career, including 25 in LaLiga, and another four for Argentina.

He managed 12 for club and country in his most prolific season, 2011-12, when he scored 82 goals in 73 games in all competitions. His 50 league goals featured eight hat-tricks and he added two more among his 14 Champions League goals and two in Argentina friendlies, including one in a 4-3 win over Brazil in New Jersey.

He has scored four goals in a game on four occasions, all for Barcelona – against Arsenal in April 2010, Valencia and Espanyol in 2012 and Osasuna in January 2013 – and five in a 7-1 Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen in March 2012.
