Attention is already turning to next season with Wolves having wrapped up the Championship title with two games to spare.

Speaking after earning his 24th clean sheet of the season in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, ex-Norwich City keeper Ruddy talked up Wolves' chances of making a splash in the top flight.

"The potential the club's got with the owners, the manager and the players we've got already...if we can make good additions to the squad who knows what we can do next year," he said.

"Obviously the club as a whole has the ability to sign some very good players.

"We've already got a fantastic mix in the squad so anything we can add on top of that is going to be massive.

"We know what the Premier League's about. Although there are eight fewer games it's even more intense.

"We've got one more game to go, we'll enjoy the summer and look forward to coming back in pre-season and working even harder than we have done this year."

Ruddy has kept more clean sheets than any other keeper in the league. He paid tribute to his team mates.

"Credit goes to the boys in front of me, not just the back five or the back three, it starts from the front," Ruddy said.

"We're well drilled, we're disciplined and we're consistent in the way we play.

"On a personal note it's a great accolade but I can't take anything away from the rest of the team."

Wolves have been a class above in the Championship but Ruddy said there was no secret to their success.

"It's been a long, hard, relentless season but we've been a credit to ourselves," he said.

"We've been top since October 31 which itself is a massive achievement.

"I don't think there's a secret. The belief we have in the way we play, the consistency – we haven't changed the way we've got into any game for any team.

"Everyone knows their roles. That's a massive factor in having the consistency you need in this division.

"This is my third time and the first time as a champion which puts the icing on the cake.

"It was a strange feeling coming into the last couple of games but we've been professional in the way we've prepared and focused on making sure we can get the best outcome possible."
