Walter Zenga welcomed his first win as Wolves boss – and said his players had given him a selection headache.

Wolves edged past League Two side Crawley 2-1 thanks to Conor Coady's winner – his first goal for the club.

Joe Mason had given Wolves an early lead but plucky Crawley soon pegged them back and for long periods the outcome was far from certain.

However Zenga, who sent on new signings Helder Costa and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson at half-time, was satisfied his team had got the right result.

He said of his changes: "The coach is thinking in the right way for the team. It's not that the two players going out are the worst player, they working hard in the first half.

"And then in the second half the other players have more space to show their quality.

"I change because I have the chance to make three changes during the game and I use this possibility.

"There are many things to explain (the five changes from the start) – Iorfa was suspended, Edwards didn't have pre-season. I give to everybody the chance to be involved."
