Wolves legend Kenny Hibbitt today called for the return of Jody Craddock to save the club's Premier League future.

Former midfielder Hibbitt, now a Premier League referees' assessor, believes manager Mick McCarthy needs the experience of Craddock to stop the rot at the back.

Craddock hasn't started a Premier League game since October 15 initially because of injury but more recently through the form of Richard Stearman.

But Wolves have looked shaky in the last two games, and after conceding seven goals in crushing defeats to Newcastle and Everton, Hibbitt believes the time has come for the return of evergreen Craddock.

"You need to get experience in," said Hibbitt.

"I've seen Jody several times this season and I think each time he had to go off to have his head stitched up, but against Everton I didn't see anyone who looked like they were going to give blood for the cause.

"He lacks pace but the way around that is to play your centre-backs closer together and bring your full-backs in.

"Jody gives you balance and I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing because he steadies the ship.

"I've never managed in a relegation scrap but I'd imagine you'd play your strongest team which is your most experienced players."
