The 19-year-old midfielder came through the ranks at Salop and was involved with the first team during pre-season last year.

The former third-year scholar spent time on loan at Shifnal Town, where he became a regular and scored six goals. A move to Redditch United followed in November, and the youngster made an immediate impact, winning the club’s Player of the Month award for December.

His impressive form out on loan earned him a first-team opportunity with Town, making an appearance in the FA Cup at Premier League side Wolves. Loughran came on in the 75th minute of Salop’s heavy third-round defeat at Molineux.

Following his release earlier this summer, Loughran has now secured a fresh start with Prescot Cables ahead of the new campaign.
