Shrewsbury Town youngster Jay Snook seals loan move
Snook has completed a loan move after featuring for Salop during pre-season.
Shrewsbury Town youngster Jay Snook has joined Nuneaton Town on loan.
Snook was one of three Salop academy products to sign third-year scholarship deals this summer.
The forward, who captained Shrewsbury’s under-18s to a historic league title last season, has trained with the first team and featured throughout pre-season.
He missed Town’s recent friendly fixtures after being forced off early against Everton Under-21s on Tuesday, July 21, with a tight hamstring. Since then, Snook has been continuing his recovery, completing running drills before matches, including Saturday’s victory over Aston Villa’s youngsters.
The young striker has now joined Nuneaton Town, who compete in the Northern One Midlands at step four of the non-league pyramid, to gain further senior experience.

Snook spent time on loan at Kidsgrove Athletic at the same level last season alongside fellow Shrewsbury academy product and third-year scholar Reuben Falding.
The striker was on target in the victory over Salford City’s youngsters that sealed the EFL Youth Alliance North West Division title for Shrewsbury’s under-18s last season. They later won the overall northern title before narrowly missing out on the national crown.
Shrewsbury boss Gavin Cowan has spoken highly of the club’s young players throughout pre-season, with Snook among those to impress.
