‘Didn’t know he had that!’ Team-mate’s verdict on Isaac Fletcher’s Shrewsbury Town wonder strike
Josh Davison’s funny reaction to Isaac Fletcher’s stunning Shrewsbury Town winner.
Josh Davison joked he never knew Isaac Fletcher had a left-footed strike like that in his locker after his stunning winner against Aston Villa’s youngsters.
Fletcher’s late effort from outside the box sealed a 3-2 victory for Shrewsbury Town in their final pre-season outing ahead of the new campaign.

Davison, who scored twice before being substituted, could only admire the goal from the sidelines.
He said: “I watched that one from the side, but left footed, I didn’t know he had that,” Davison laughed.
“That's always good to see, isn't it? Off the post, he was buzzing with that.”
Fletcher’s strike ensured Shrewsbury ended pre-season on a winning note ahead of next weekend’s competitive opener away to Salford City in the Carabao Cup.
Davison’s brace had put Town 2-0 up before Villa battled back to level after the break, helped by a bizarre own goal when Salop goalkeeper Sam Proctor, on loan from Villa, accidentally allowed a back-pass to slip under his foot.
But Town regained the lead through Fletcher, and Davison was delighted to finish pre-season with a victory.
He added: “It was a young side, but they're good players. They wouldn't be at Villa if they weren't, do you know what I mean?
“It's always tough when you play these young lads. They're all trying to make their mark and start their careers off and they've always got something to prove.
“So, to win is always nice.”
