Ricardo Dinanga in talks over Shrewsbury Town exit as Gavin Cowan issues transfer update
Gavin Cowan issued a latest update on Shrewsbury Town’s transfer-listed players.
Ricardo Dinanga has held talks with clubs in Ireland and Scotland over a potential move away from Shrewsbury Town.
Boss Gavin Cowan has provided an update on the club’s four transfer-listed players, who are all still searching for moves elsewhere this summer.
Cowan also revealed there remains strong interest in striker Callum Stewart, who has attracted attention from several National League clubs, while Dinanga has also been exploring his options.
Asked about the quartet, which also includes Sam Clucas and Tom Anderson, Cowan said: “That’s really for them and their agents. We do our bit and we make them available, but it’s up to them.
“They have contracts at the football club. They’ll be discussing with other football clubs, I’m sure, which they’ve been given permission to do. So, we await.
“Callum Stewart’s had quite a lot of interest. I’m not sure what the delay is on that. Ricardo has been to Ireland and Scotland, speaking to clubs.

“So, we’re just waiting. We have to be patient because, look, this is their lives.
“Yes, we want it to happen, and I think they want it to happen because they want to go play football. None of them are sitting there thinking: ‘I’m just going to sit here and just have a jolly up’. I think they genuinely want to go out and play football.
“They’ve all taken it really well. They understand it’s football and they want to get out and start getting on the grass, which is difficult for some of them.”
Defender Anderson is the only transfer-listed player to feature during Salop’s pre-season campaign.
The 32-year-old came off the bench in Saturday’s final friendly against Aston Villa’s youngsters, after which Cowan admitted he would love to keep the experienced defender. However, he acknowledged that, with similar options already in his squad, Anderson is the player likely to move on in the interests of balance.
