Tykes’ penalty beats Marko Marosi (AMA)

So often this season, Shrewsbury Town have struggled to compete against sides above them in the table – with a win against Derby back in October the one exception, writes Ollie Westbury.

But on a mild evening at the Croud Meadow, Paul Hurst’s side were brave, they put their opponents under immense pressure, and they were just moments away from getting a valuable 1-0 victory.

That was until the visitors were awarded a penalty in stoppage time to break Salopian hearts.

But there were so many good things to come out of the game.

They were not bothered about Barnsley’s reputation and the fact the Tykes have a good chance of making it into the play-offs.
