Shrewsbury Town's squad reshaping continued today with the release of midfielder Ashley Vincent.

The 30-year-old one-time Wolves trainee has left the club after it was mutually agreed that his contract, which has a year to run, would be cancelled.

Vincent, who didn't play after October, started the season in the side but a switch to a 3-5-2 formation saw his chances limited, and he ended the season having made eight League appearances and 10 in all competitions.

Chief executive Matt Williams said: "At his age he needs to be playing first-team football and we've come to a mutually agreeable arrangement to allow him to leave."

Vincent's place in the squad is set to be taken by the signing of a winger, as the club look to make it two arrivals in as many days.
