Pacy?winger Lionel Ainsworth looks set to be the first high-profile Shrewsbury Town player to leave the club.
The 24-year-old wideman's contract expires this summer and the former Hereford United player's future looks to lie away from the Greenhous Meadow.
Ainsworth took to Twitter today to thank the fans and his team-mates for their support during his two-year stay at Shrewsbury.
"I?Would Like To Thank All The Shrewsbury Fans For The Last 2year Uv Bin Gr8," he tweeted. Ainsworth spent the second half of the season on loan at Burton Albion having fallen behind Jon Taylor and Aaron Wildig in the pecking order.
Midfielder Sean McAllister could be another who leaves, although he had hoped his higher league pedigree would prove the decisive factor in earning a contract offer from the club.
McAllister was forced to settle for a bit-part role during the final months of the campaign, with Saturday's 10-minute substitute outing at AFC Wimbledon only his second appearance off the bench since January.
The 24-year-old was one of a host of Town players due to learn more about his future in meetings with boss Graham Turner, with the retained list expected imminently
And McAllister is hoping he is given the opportunity to move back up the leagues having being part of the Sheffield Wednesday squad plying their trade in the Championship from 2005 to 2010. "I've played at a higher level and done well," he said.
"I was at Sheffield Wednesday when we finished in the top half of the Championship (in 2008-09) and played nearly every game – but it's up to the manager.
"I would have liked to have played more but it's hard when you have got somebody who has won the player of the year awards (Matt Richards) and another (Nicky Wroe) who is nominated for League Two player of the month in central midfield.
"I'm very settled and I would like to stay."
