Similar to Saturday's 1-1 draw, Matt Burton's side held their own early on in front of a crowd of well over 1,000 people at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

In the opening exchanges the National League North side were restricted to headers from Gregg Smith and Jay Rollins which failed to troubled home keeper Sam Jones.

Sam Phillps was Haughmond's man threat down the right, finding Kevin Renshaw who dragged a shot wide after ten minutes.

The Pilgrims began to assert their authority, and got their noses in front after 20 minutes.

Haughmond failed to clear a corner and the ball fell to skipper James Clifton, who drove a low shot through a crowd and past Jones into the corner.

On the half hour mark the FA Cup dream was beginning to fade as United grabbed a second.

Smith's through ball left the home defence standing and Rollins beat the offside trap, before stroking the ball beyond Jones.

The visitors fired out of the traps in the second period and could have easily been further ahead early on.

Smith volleyed over and had a header saved, before Rollins' long range effort stung Jones' palms.

On the hour mark the tie was all over, as Clifton cut in from the left and beat the keeper at his near post, before Jack Thomas found Smith to fire home from close range minutes later.

Carl Rogers fired a free kick inches wide as they went in search of a consolation.

But there was only team who looked like scoring, and Boston did that in the final minute.

Tom Hewitt upended Kabonen Tshimanga in the box, and the striker picked himself up to send Jones the wrong way and secure the Pilgrims place in the next round.
