The Bucks made it three games unbeaten as they drew 0-0 with sixth-placed Kidderminster Harriers.

They drew 1-1 with third-placed Brackley Town on Saturday too, and Edwards said: "We've always said to take it game by game and see where it takes us.

"We've taken a look at everyone in the league and realised we're not too far off.

"If we can keep going the way we are and put a run together, you never know.

"We've just played two of the best teams in the league and we are perhaps still a little away.

"But I think the gap is getting closer. I don't think we are a million miles away.

"What I want to see is performances like they have been, and results and points will take care of themselves."

Edwards - who celebrated his 35th birthday on Christmas Day - was happy with his side's defensive display against Harriers.

On a very boggy pitch, the likes of skipper Shane Sutton and Wolves loanee Connor Johnson battled hard and limited the visitors to very little.

"We've played two really good teams in this league in Brackley away and now Kiddy," said Edwards.

"They've both got goals in them but we've looked very solid.

"That side of is good. I'm really pleased with that and it needs to continue.

"I'm really pleased with the clean sheet against a good team that scores a lot of goals.

"They've got a lot of firepower and we did well to keep them out."

Telford are now 15th - eight points off the play-offs - with a couple of games in hand on the teams around them.

Edwards added: "I am delighted with the performance.

"It was difficult playing conditions but I thought both teams tried to play at the right times.

"I was delighted with our players, our performance, I thought the attitude and work was there - the commitment was really there.

"We played some really good football and created some really good opportunities.

"If we keep getting the performances we are getting at the moment, we'll win more games than we don't."
