The 20-year-old was signed this summer from Worcester City but has not played for the Bucks yet.

He was set to be included in the squad that won 3-0 at Leamington on Monday but pulled up during the warm-up, and Will Marsh was then drafted into the 16.

Steele's last game was for Worcester in April and he is now due for further rehabilitation with the help of Telford physio Jake Roe.

Bucks boss Rob Edwards said: "It is the same thing again.

"Chekaine was really frustrated and disappointed – he was pretty down about it, as you would expect, but he has to keep his head up."

Steele was signed by former Telford chief Rob Smith and Edwards is keen to give him a chance to impress.

The Birmingham-based youngster came through the ranks at Port Vale before being released from there last year, and spending last term with Worcester.

Edwards added: "It is hard but he just needs to pick himself up, keep working hard, and look to go again over the next couple of weeks."

Steele was set to watch on from the sidelines as Telford welcomed Blyth Spartans to the New Bucks Head today.

Also not expected to be involved was former skipper Jack Rea, who has been struggling with an ankle knock.

Rea picked up the injury against Salford City on August 12, and him and Steele will continue to be closely monitored by Roe.
