AFC Telford boss issues final warning to players
AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton has left his players in no doubt what will be expected of them for the remainder of the season.
Sinton issued a warning ahead of tomorrow's home game against high-flying Luton Town and spelled out the standards he requires.
It comes in the aftermath of last weekend's humiliating FA Trophy defeat at King's Lynn Town, with players berated in the days following the 3-1 loss.
That loss was described as one of the lowest points of his football career by Sinton and he felt it necessary to issue a statement on the club's website.
It said: "I do not expect everyone to be the best but I do expect everyone to do their best – at all times.
"I don't think that is asking too much and if anyone does they are at the wrong club. We need to get back to working as hard as we possibly can.
"We need players who want to be here for the right reasons, which the majority do and are a credit to themselves and a pleasure to work with.
"We need to weed out anyone who does not demonstrate their total commitment, determination and passion for the club.
"We will still play poorly at times and lose games but in the knowledge that everyone was fully committed to the cause and did their best."
