Mike Davies: Strength in depth a bonus for AFC Telford

AFC Telford have enough versatility to cope with the absence of two key players for tomorrow's home clash with Kidderminster Harriers, assistant boss Mike Davies insists.

The Bucks will take on Steve Burr's side without eight-goal top scorer Steve Jones as he begins a three-match ban tomorrow, as well as influential winger Luke Hubbins, who will serve a one-game suspension.

Jones was shown a straight red for a lunge on defender Greg Taylor during Telford's visit to Tamworth last weekend while Hubbins picked up his fifth yellow card of the season.

Their absence removes two of boss Andy Sinton's main attacking weapons on the right hand side.

Midfielder Jon Brown, who is available, has also played games at wide right this season though and Davies insisted that there were also others in the squad capable of playing several positions if need be.

"We won't give away who will be playing in what position but there are players capable of playing in a few positions," he said. "That is the beauty of the squad."

And Sinton added the absences of certain players would create an opportunity for others to challenge for a more regular starting place.

"When someone goes out of the side it's an opportunity for someone else to come in and cement their place," he added.
