Grealish, who has missed 12 straight Premier League matches with a shin problem, resumed full training last weekend and is on the brink of a comeback.

While the 25-year-old is expected to at least be on the bench for the visit of the Toffees, it is even possible he may start.

Should all go to plan, Grealish will have Villa’s four remaining Premier League fixtures to prove his fitness to England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of this summer’s European Championships.

His return also comes as a huge boost to Villa head coach Dean Smith as he eyes a strong finish to the season.

Tomorrow’s match is the last at Villa Park before the return of supporters for the final day clash with Chelsea.

Villa, who will be without top scorer Ollie Watkins through suspension, have lost eight out of 17 at home this term.

Smith said: “It is about time we started to put some results together at Villa Park.

“We need to make sure we are ready for when the fans are back here against Chelsea on May 23.”
