The camps will be open to boys and girls in Shropshire aged 6 to 11 of all abilities.

They will take place at Sundorne Games Hall (April 15 and 16), Oswestry School (April 17 and 18) and Telford College Sports Hall (April 23 and 24).

The camps will run from 9.30am until 3pm each day, and will cost £25 per day, or £45 for both days at each centre. Early drop-off is available from 8.30am with advance notice, together with a late pick-up at 4pm, again if requested.

The programme will be fun, covering batting, bowling and fielding skills and aims at developing an awareness of the game. The session will be run by ECB level two-qualified coaches, and youngsters are asked to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle.

Clubs and Community Cricket Manager Steve Reese said: “A number of factors have influenced our decision to offer two-day Easter Camps this year.

“We piloted a Cricket for All programme in three locations around the county in November and received excellent comments and good numbers.

“We are currently delivering in a number of schools in the areas we are hosting the camps.

“Easter this year is late which is delaying some clubs starting their summer sessions and with a squeeze on indoor facilities for seniors it was felt if we could offer a short junior programme it could help promote the local clubs.

“We have also opened the camps to the 6 to 11-year age group, capturing attention to the younger ones to further promote the All Stars programme which starts on May 10 around the country, with over 30 local clubs already signed up to take part.

The camps will also be available for club coaches to attend, support or just view the sessions, providing Continued Professional Development for those interested.”
