Shropshire still fighting to claim the title
Boss Brian Foxall today admitted Shropshire's title hopes are a "long shot" but vowed they will fight to the end.
The chairman of selectors knows their chances of winning the Minor Counties Championship Western Division are fading, ahead of the final two games.
The champions go through to face the winners of the Eastern Division, with Wiltshire currently on top.
Shropshire play them in the final game of the season after the three-day trip to face Devon in Exeter which starts on Sunday.
They are fifth, 15 points behind second-placed Devon, and Foxhall admitted they face an uphill battle to catch Wiltshire.
He said: "It's a long shot, it would be nice but at the moment it's not a priority.
"I think we have done really well to have won two from four and anything else is a massive bonus.
"We have got to win both games and take maximum bonus points to stand a chance.
"We're in a transition period and we have had to go with some younger players this season.
"It didn't look so clever at the start of the season when we were getting hammered but it has worked out.
"We are going to try to win in Devon and that's all James (Ralph, captain) is thinking about."
Quatt's Adrian Evans, Shifnal's Simon Gregory and Shrewsbury's Sam Griffiths have been recalled with Tom Weston, Jack Edwards and Charlie Morris dropping out.
The returning trio were unavailable for the six-wicket win in Cornwall and Foxhall believes they will add more balance to the side.
He said: "They would have been in the team if they were available. It seems perfectly sensible for us to bring them back.
"We needed a third seam bowler so we went for Sam, because he started in the team earlier in the season.
"Gregory coming in allows Ryan Lockley to focus on his batting and Adrian did little wrong when he played last. The tough decision was who to leave out."
