Despite vastly experienced bowler Joan Groom winning all her matches, North Shropshire lost all three fixtures in the British Ladies county championship.

They finished bottom of qualifying section two and it means an immediate return to the lower tier President’s Cup in 2024.

Tonight’s annual meeting is at Whitchurch’s Bridgewater BC (7.30pm start) and chairperson Chris Sayers said: “There’s nothing really of note on the agenda.

“The main item is to look at the notices of motion for the British Ladies meeting, which is at Winnington on Sunday, November 5, and decide how North Shropshire want to vote.”
