Shrewsbury Athletic Club will be staging the event for the ninth time on Saturday, November 12, starting at 11am.

Run in conjunction with and by kind permission of the National Trust, the race route takes in the picturesque park and farmland around the Mansion and Deer Park, passing through wooded areas with obstacles including fences, ditches and fallen trees and taking in a section of the Trust's pond, where runners run or wade through water approximately 0.5m deep at the end of the race.

The race has proved to be an increasingly popular annual event for runners of all abilities and with 130 pre-entries received to date, the club anticipate that the race will once again attract a cross section of club, unattached and first time entry runners.

The club are encouraging pre-entries, which close on Wednesday, November 2, but entries will be accepted on the day up to the race limit of 550.

Free family admission for the day to the Park and grounds for up to two adults and three children will be included with each entry.

Once again, Rybrook BMW, Cotswold Outdoor and Up and Running have kindly agreed to sponsor the event and there will be a spot prize of a weekend car, provided by Rybrook BMW, subject to terms and conditions.

New this year will be a medal for all finishers.
