Defiant boss Mick McCarthy today called on the entire Wolves 'family' to unite behind the team and beat West Ham and deliver the right response to the bashing the club has received. McCarthy revealed the club are hurting from the negative exposure they have received, which continued this week when Danny Murphy's criticised McCarthy's side for being 'too pumped up' before they go out to play. McCarthy has so far refused to respond directly to the claims as he tries to turn around a six-year low of four straight defeats. But he vowed his charges won't change how they play and said: "The club has taken a bashing over the last few weeks and we all get sensitive about that and don't think we deserve it. "It's been a tough few weeks but team spirit and morale remain good and we have to get a positive result.

"The only way to come out of it though is for all of us to stick together as a club - players, management, staff and fans.
"We won't alter the way we play.
"We've never been anything other than competitive and that's what we'll carry on doing."
McCarthy is confident the fans will provide all the backing the players need at a near sold-out Molineux to welcome the Premier League's bottom two.
"It's about having everyone on side and hopefully making it a fantastic atmosphere," he added.
"The fans have been fantastic so far, and we'll need them more than ever against a West Ham side who have had some decent results.
"Everyone has to get right behind us - as I know they will - and make sure everyone connected with Wolves is together."
