It is Ikeme's third loan spell of the season as the 23-year-old has already had short spells with Sheffield United and Charlton.

In the event of injury, illness or suspension to Wayne Hennessey or Marcus Hahnemann, Ikeme will be immediately recalled.

Meanwhile Wolves have missed out on one of their potential January transfer targets.

Sheffield United defender Matthew Kilgallon looks set to remain with the Yorkshire club club until at least the end of the season.

The centre-half has long been linked with a move away from Bramall Lane, with Wolves and Newcaslte among his potential destinations.

But his agent Paul Masterton said: "We have spoken to Kevin Blackwell to say Matthew is fully committed to Sheffield United until the end of the season.

"We have also informed Newcastle about the situation. Matthew is keen to win promotion with Sheffield United, if that happens we will re-assess the options in the summer."
