What's it like? "West Felton is a large village set in a fantastic rural area within easy reach of Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Mid Wales.

"Parts of the village have a traditional chocolate-box look, although there are some newer houses too."

What's good about it? "Fantastic rural area, but within easy reach of Shrewsbury and on to Telford or Birmingham; and also of Wrexham and Chester, with the whole North West accessible.

"It's just a really lovely place to live. The small shop sells everything you could possibly need, including 'snoggable' garlic!"

Any downsides? "For those with older children, there is a limit to the activities they can do; there's an adventure playground and some youth events at the village hall but the buses to Oswestry or Shrewsbury come every 30 minutes so they can easily access more."

Where's good for going out? "There's a friendly village pub which has a lovely garden and serves great food seven days a week, and there are other good pubs and restaurants within a few miles. The Hub in Oswestry has some good theatre events."

Little known facts: Pioneering astronomer John Dovaston was born here in 1740. He is best known for his observations on the movement of the planets and the night sky, and documenting the eclipse of 1776 and the comet of 1797.
